Care Ministry

Our Care Ministry at Sardis Fellowship seeks to be there for people when going though a time of need. Most of our care needs are met through being a part of our Life Groups as people are connected into deeper community However, there are often circumstances that lead to a higher level of care that is needed for a time. Whether someone has an acute health need or an ongoing need, or recently had baby, are aging and are isolated or shut in, we don’t want anyone to be forgotten.

If caring for others is something you would enjoy doing here are some of the ways you can do that:

  • Join our Care Team and visit people in need of care

  • Join our Prayer Team and receive weekly emailed prayer requests

  • Join our Meals Ministry and make a meal for people in need

  • Join our Shuttle Team and drive seniors to medical appointments

As we seek to be the body of Christ and to be there for each other we want to do this in the love that God has shown towards each of us.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
— 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Prayer Ministry

At Sardis Fellowship, we believe that prayer is integral to our faith because is builds our relationship with God and is an active form of worship. Praying allows us to worship God by:

  • Praising God for who he is and what he has done

  • Receiving forgiveness by confessing and repenting of our sins

  • Asking for help and healing

  • Receiving peace, joy, comfort, strength, and courage, in all circumstances

  • Allowing us to intercede for others

  • Giving us opportunity to be part of the work that God is doing on earth

  • Allowing us to see beyond ourselves into what God is doing in and through us and others

If you have a prayer request that you would like our prayer team to be praying for please click the button above and fill out the form. You can ask for prayer in different settings:

  • only the pastors and office staff

  • our prayer team, knowing that our prayer team is committed to keeping things confidential

  • the whole church to be praying, this is public

If you would like to be on our prayer team, please click the link above. Please know that you will be asked to keep all requests confidential.

Day of Prayer and Fasting

As an initiative to increase our dependency on the Spirit, and seeking God to do a transformative work in and through Sardis Fellowship, we set aside the first day of the month to fast and pray. We know not everyone is able to do this in the same way, or to the same degree, so we ask you to consider how you can make this work for you.

Each month we highlight something to focus on, whether that be in the life of our church family, our local community or world. Sometimes we have specific things for you to pray through and sometimes we just give you the focus and allow God’s Spirit to guide you in your prayer time around that topic.

If we as a church family want to see the transformative power of God at work in our lives, the lives of our loved ones, and the community we live in, then we need to seek Him in prayer. I trust you’ll join us each month. Pastor Rod Heppell.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests’. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying, for all the Lord’s people.
